“Respected and emulated New York-based producer, DJ, and label chief Osunlade grew up in a musical environment; as a youngster, he took piano lessons and sang in his church choir. At the age of 17, he joined the cast of the popular children’s show Sesame Street as a presenter. He later produced music for the program. During the late ’80s, he started working as a producer and session hand; since starting out, he has leant his talents to records by Musiq, Patti LaBelle, Najee, India.Arie, and Eric Benet. In 1999, Osunlade established the Yoruba label and began releasing deep house productions of his own while cultivating new artists. For his first album, 2001’s Paradigm, the producer hooked up with the U.K.’s Soul Jazz label, which released the excellent LP and increased his profile significantly as a result. Easily one of the most gifted producers of soul/funk-influenced deep house, Osunlade — an ordained priest in the African religion of Ifa — graces everything he touches with spiritual, uplifting vibes.”

Out now on Anabatic Records - with remixes by Worthy and Jet Project!
From Anabatic:
Deepchild - Stripjoint Mathematics Ep
Up for June we welcome Deepchild to our growing lineup of new artists with his first EP on the label. We were introduced to Deepchild through Emerson Todd when he sent us his remix of “My Eyes” at the beginning of the year. Soon after he sent us a track that was so down and dirty and twisted that we snatched it up right away. Thus we bring you “Stripjoint Mathematics.”
On a very bad night Deepchild channeled the likes of Mad Lib and George Clinton and laid down a vocal rhyme that is twisted and full of wrong. The track fits the vocal too, with all kinds of crazy stabs dropping and sounds flying in all kinds of unexpected ways, this is the kind of track you can lose yourself in.
First up on the remix the Jet Project lay down housed out tech roller that brings it down right dirty. On the second remix label boss Worthy brings us to the back room of the Stripjoint and goes dark and deep with a ghetto 808 ass drop in the middle sure to have the bills dropping down in the early morning.
Too round out this release Deepchild lays down his vocals on Turkish Poison this one is darker and deeper and just as twisted and but a bit more of a techno roller. It perfectly rounds out his EP, and we could not be more excited about this release.
